Tech Sgt. Thomas C. Nixon, USMC
After reuniting in a convalescent hospital after getting back to America, Guirey & Nick decided to tell their story of the days at Tenagawa, Umeda, Zentsuji, and Tsuruda. They knew their story had to be told. In 1954, their book was published, telling the story for those many men in the camps. Some lived to make it back home, many did not. They felt they owed it to all to so that the world would know what happened to them.
The two men remained friends until Guirey's passing.

Moochy the Magnificent
Known to many as Moochie the Magnificent the Wrestler, Cpl John Mucciaccario first entered the Marine Corps at the age of 20 in 1940. Having been the first to be captured on Guam 3 days after the bombing of Pear Harbor, this would shape the life.
Moochy's life history
Lieut. Zemo C. Tarnowski, USN
Spanning from 1937 to 1965, Zemo Maintained his career in the Navy upon his return from Japan. He was captured on the island of Corrigidore in 1942. After retiring from the Navy in 1965 specializing in flight forecasting and climatology, Zemo went on to a 2nd career with the State Highway Patrol.
He and Tom Nixon also maintained contact until his passing in 1998.
Zemo's Life History
PFC Raymond Church, USMC
Ray had joined the Marines before the WWII started. He and Nixon met when they were at MCRD together in boot camp. He was assigned along with the rest of the platoon to the defense of Guam. When Pearl Harbor was attacked this platoon fought to blend in with the locals to stay alive. The men stayed together until the end of the war in 1945.
