Lt. Louis Guirey, USN and Tech.(Gunnery) Sgt. Thomas Nixon, USMC met in a Japanese POW hospital in Tanagawa while lying side by side in hospital beds. Tom kept a diary of his journey through the World War II POW days ahead, and Louis did the same. Together with many of their friends diaries, the writing ability of Stephen Marek and the support in recollecting all that happened, they were able to tell the story of how they maintained Laughter in Hell.
